You want to serve God? Well..
Det är så lätt att engagera sig i kyrkan eller kristna sammanhang av fel anledningar och av egen kraft. Det finns en anledning till att det är så många, speciellt anställda, som blir utbrända i kyrkan. De försöker göra Guds verk av egen kraft och kompromissar tiden med Gud för att de har så mycket annat viktigt att göra. Jag talar av egen erfarenhet då jag själv arbetat inom kyrkan.

- Matteusevangeliet 14:23 "Sedan gick han upp på berget för att få vara för sig själv och be. När det blev kväll, var han ensam där."
- Lukasevangeliet 5:15-16 "Men ryktet om Jesus spreds ännu mer, och stora skaror samlades för att lyssna på honom och bli botade från sina sjukdomar.Men han drog sig ofta undan till öde trakter och bad."
Om det var någon som insåg vikten av tid med Gud så var det Jesus själv. Nöden var ständigt över honom och tusentals desperata människor sökte upp honom för att bli helade eller få hjälp. Men han prioriterade tiden med Gud framför att hjälpa dem i nöd, just för att få kraften att hjälpa troligen. Jag tror att detta är en sjukt viktig detalj som vi ofta läser förbi lite väl snabbt. Jesus var omringad av stora skaror som sökte honom för hjälp MEN han drog sig OFTA undan för att vara själv och be. Om Guds egen son behövde göra detta hur mycket mer borde inte vi behöva det?
Prestera inte utifrån din egen kraft utan från kraften Gud ger dig under bön!

It is so easy to get involved in church for the wrong reasons and by our own efforts. There is a reason that there are so many, especially employees, who get burnt out in the church. They try to do the work of God by their own efforts and compromises time with God because they have so much to do. I speak from personal experience Since I've been working in church myself.
- Matthew 14:23 "And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone."
- Luke 5:15-16 "The news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed."
If it was someone that realized the importance of time with God, it was Jesus himself. Neediness was constantly upon him and thousands of desperate people sought him out to be healed or get help. But he prioritized time with God in front of those in need, probably to receive the power to help them. I think this is a very important detail that we easily read past a little too fast. Jesus was surrounded by multitudes who sought him for help BUT he OFTEN withdrew to be by himself and pray. If God's own son had to do this how much more shouldn't we need it?
