It's not yours anyway
Alltså det här med pengar. Det är så lätt att leva för pengar och det som pengar kan ge. Det är så lätt att tänka "Vad ska jag göra för kul med mina pengar?" fast det egentligen inte alls är mina pengar! Ja du hörde rätt, vi äger ingenting här, vi har ingen "rätt" till mark eller ägodelar eller pengar egentligen. Allt är nämligen Guds! Vi är satta att råda över denna jord åt Gud, vi får förvalta allt medan vi är på denna jord och jag tror att Gud verkligen bryr sig om vad vi gör med "våra" pengar.
- 1 Timotheusbrevet 6:10 "Kärlek till pengar är en rot till allt ont. I sitt begär efter pengar har vissa kommit bort från tron och vållat sig själva mycket lidande."
Pengar i sig självt är verkligen inte ont och det är inte heller något fel med att vara rik som kristen. Så länge Gud betyder mer än pengarna och så länge du sätter din tillit till Gud och inte pengarna så är det lugnt.
- Markusevangeliet 10:23-27 "Jesus såg sig omkring och sade till sina lärjungar: "Hur svårt är det inte för dem som är rika att komma in i Guds rike!" Lärjungarna blev förskräckta över hans ord. Men Jesus sade än en gång till dem: "Mina barn, hur svårt är det inte att komma in i Guds rike! Det är lättare för en kamel att komma igenom ett synålsöga än för en rik att komma in i Guds rike." Då blev de ännu mer förskräckta och sade till varandra: "Vem kan då bli frälst?" Jesus såg på dem och sade: "För människor är det omöjligt, men inte för Gud. Ty för Gud är allting möjligt."
Jesus säger i att det i princip är omöjligt för en rik person att komma in i Guds rike. Men sedan tillägger han också lite mystiskt att allt dock är möjligt för Gud. Vi kan dock inte tjäna två herrar, utan Gud måste komma först! Samla dina skatter (framförallt) i himlen och inte på jorden, vi ska inte frukta pengar men vi ska ha respekt för makten de kan få över oss. Se till att använda det du fått av Gud för det godas skull!
Veckans utmaning
- Fråga dig själv om du har en sund relation till pengar, skulle du kunna sälja allt och ge till de fattiga om Gud bad dig?
- Ge mer än du brukar till något, om det är till kyrkan, en hjälorganisation eller tiggaren utanför din matbutik spelar ingen roll. Men var lyhörd ifall Gud har något särskilt du ska ge till!
So this about money. It's so easy to live for money and what it can provide. It is so easy to think, "What can I do for fun with my money?" though it is not really my money! Yes, you heard me, we own nothing here, we have no "right" to land or possessions or money, what so ever. Because everything belongs to God! We are set to rule over this earth for him, we are allowed to manage everything while we are on this earth, and I think that God really cares about what we do with "our" money.
- 1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
Money in itself really isn't a bad thing and there is nothing wrong with being rich as a Christian. As long as God is more important than money and as long as you put your trust in God and not money, your'e good.
- Mark 10:23-27 "And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus *answered again and *said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” They were even more astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?” Looking at them, Jesus *said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
Jesus says that it's basically impossible for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God. But then he adds a bit mysteriously that all things are possible with God. We cannot serve two masters, but God must come first! Gather your treasures (especially) in heaven and not on earth. We shouldn't fear money but we should have respect for the power it can have over us. Make sure to use what's given to you by God for the sake of good!
Challenge of the week
- Ask yourself if you have a healthy relationship with money, you would be able to sell everything and give to the poor if God asked you?
- Give more than you tend to something, whether it is to the Church, a help organization or to the beggar outside your supermarket does not matter. But be responsive if God has something special He wants you to give to!
