All is vanity. Or is it?

- Ecclesiastes 2:9-11 "So I became great and surpassed all who were before me in Jerusalem. Also my wisdom remained with me. And whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I kept my heart from no pleasure, for my heart found pleasure in all my toil, and this was my reward for all my toil. Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun."
There is nothing on this earth that will give you true lasting happiness, that's just how it is. Ask Ecclesiastes. He had everything a man could ever wish for. Power, money, we realize that most of them are miserable.
It is built into us to look for something more in life, a deeper meaning. We are designed to belong to God. Only then can we feel genuine happiness and peace. God is also the only thing we cannot lose. Maybe your family is your happiness? Tomorrow they may be gone, what happens to your happiness then? (Worst case scenario, but anyway).
Important to remember is that God never promised us that life would be easy. But he promised that he will always be with us.
